Guidance and information

The annual Society for Academic Primary Care South West regional conference is delighted to invite abstract submissions for the 2024 conference taking place on the 14th and 15th of March, hosted by Cardiff University, Wales.

We particularly welcome submissions that map closely to this year's theme: "Primary care on the front page: dodging the bullets or embracing the challenge?"

However, submissions are welcome on any topic relating to research in primary care both in the UK and internationally.

Abstract submission opens on 1 November 2023 and closes on 30th November 2023.  

Notifications of the status of your submission following peer review will be emailed to you in January 2024.

Abstract submission guidance

Submissions are invited for oral and poster abstracts:

  • The theme of this year’s conference is 'Primary care on the front page: dodging the bullets or embracing the challenge?'

  • Abstracts are limited to 250 words, excluding the title and authors.

  • Abstracts will be reviewed according to a set of review criteria and overall fit with the theme of the conference.

  • We welcome submissions from early career researchers, medical students and those that involve PPI contributors.

  • Please include names of all authors.

  • Deadline for submission of abstracts: 30 November 2023.

  • Confirmation of acceptance will be emailed by: 30 January 2024.

  • Submit via the abstract submission form.

  3. Key findings

  4. Implications

Prizes

We have some prizes on offer at this year's conference : 

  • ECR Presentation Prize (£50 voucher) 

  • ECR Poster Prize (£50 voucher)

The two highest scoring abstracts will be invited to give plenary presentations on the Friday morning.
